Phoenix Point is a turn-based tactical game by the XCOM series. Below you will learn how to recruit new soldiers for your organization.
The game talks about the emergence of a virtually non-existent organization, the Phoenix Project, whose members are called upon to give impetus to the restoration of humanity after its death from the deadly pandorovirus. However, the task is not easy, and one of the most important issues is how to recruit new soldiers.
First learn the important technology – Haven Recruitment Protocols to recruit a new soldier at Phoenix Point. There is nothing complicated in it, since this is an early technology. It will take a minimum of time. Especially, if you already create an additional research laboratory at the beginning.
Then, you will see people’s icons near certain faction hideaways (which you have already discovered) in examining the map (Geoscape). This means that here you can recruit a new unit. Click on the shelter and select the “Information” column to find out which soldier you can recruit (its type).
TO RECEIVE A RECRUITER, SEND ONE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO THE UNDERTAKEN SAFETY, THEN CHOOSE A TAB WITH INFORMATION ABOUT IT AND PRESS THE FUNCTION “HIRING A SOLDIER”. IT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY PLACED IN THE ARRIVING PLANE. IF THERE ARE NO PLACES IN THE AIRCRAFT, THE SOLDIER WILL AUTOMATICALLY BECOME ON THE BASE “PHOENIX”.
How to recruit Specialists
You can recruit two types of soldiers – the usual ones that you recruit in the building of the training center of the shelter, and the specialists, which can only be found in the shelters of the faction, where there is an elite training ground. Specialists are soldiers of subclasses for the main classes (Infiltrator for Synedrion, Berserker for Disciples of Anu). Next to the specialists’ icon on the map will be an asterisk.
Limits on New Soldiers
Learning the technology mentioned above is not the only limitation on hiring soldiers. You need resources. It’s about materials, food and technology.
But another essential requirement is that enough living space. Residential apartments can be built on the territory of any Phoenix base. Regardless of location, each base contributes to the soldier limit. The screenshot above shows the 8/8 limit. This means that now we can not recruit new soldiers. Need to build an apartment.
Also remember that each soldier consumes 1 units of food per day. In the Geoscape, you can see all the expenses at the top of the screen. If you cannot satisfy these conditions, then expect trouble.
